Read With The League

This is an after school reading/craft program for children K-6 who participate in the Cultural Center's after school program. The project involves providing a storytelling time for K-3 and reading in turn for grades 4-6. The entire group ranges from approximately 45-60 children. Each session lasts one hour, with one session per month during the school year (August - May). A total of nine sessions will be held. Each child will be given a copy of the book to take home. A snack will also be provided.

Benefit: This project encourages reading, while also giving members the opportunity to directly interact with children who are less fortunate. In addition, the child's self esteem will be improved by receiving new books to keep.
