Become a Member
Thank you for your interest in joining the Junior League of Greater Winter Haven. Our league year
runs from June 1 to May 31, so we are just now beginning our new 2007-2008 year.
The Junior League of Greater Winter Haven (JLGWH) reaches out to all women interested in making a
positive impact in their community. Members of Junior League reflect a wide range of backgrounds,
interests and personal pursuits, but we are connected to one another through our commitment to
volunteerism and improving the community. If you are interested in making a commitment to
volunteering in the greater Winter Haven area, please join us. Thank you in advance for your

Eligibility and Admission for Membership
To be eligible to join the JLGWH as a Provisional Member, a woman must be 21 years old as of
July 1 of her Provisional year. No age limit and no member sponsorship is required to join the
Junior League of Greater Winter Haven -- just an interest in volunteer service and dedication to
our mission and community focus. Those who join spend a year as Provisional members while learning
about community needs, volunteering, and getting acquainted with the organization's projects,
fundraisers, and special events. Please visit our Provisional Course Overview

After a Provisional year, members become “active” in community service projects, fundraising to
support the community service, or in service in support of the organization. After six years,
members may choose to become "sustaining," that is, take a less active but supporting role in
the League. Sustaining members may choose to return to Active status at any time.
When to Join
We accept new members only one time each year, between May 31 and September 31. The deadline for
receipt of new member enrollment forms is the second Tuesday of September. Prospective members who
miss the September deadline must wait until the following calendar year to join.
Enrollment Process
All women interested in learning more about becoming a member of the JLGWH are invited to attend a
Prospective Member Information Social. This social is held in August of each year. Please consult
the JLGWH Events Calendar on this website for additional information
on the social.
